My purple, frozen, petals
Sprinkle me with kisses
Like Jack Frost did last night
For my beauty catches eyes
Early in the morn’

Frantic gasps for air
choking on imagined smoke
Eyes do water, tears cascade
as my demons come to joke
Their talons grip my ankles
digging deep beneath my skin
They yank, and pull, relentlessly
They bring me closer to my end
Laughing at my struggles
and ripping through my scars
A death, so slow, it’s agony
will I live to see the tomorrow
