Forbidden Taste #Rhyme #Unapologetic

You are my drug
A high that I crave
Just one touch
I’m your slave
.
Whatever you desire
Whisper to me
When we meet, again
Your fantasy, I’ll be
.
The dark hour calls
As sleep eludes
When you’re with her
Do thoughts of me, intrude?

Creature of the Light #Rhyme #Unapologetic

Creature of the light
How I wish it be me
One with the sun
Blessedly Free

Swaying to the rhythm
Of the wind, and shine
Floating, sweetly
Atop cloud nine

Alas, I am not
So free, and warm
I just love from afar
No foul, no harm

Crooked #WordPrompt #Unapologetic

Jagged little pieces
Slanted against the wall
Building up to heart ache
Lost within the Fall
.
Floating from the sky
Descending, in a zig-zag
Heart, meet ground
Deadened leaves, play tag
.
Catch me, if you can
To the left, and right, I fly
A moving target toward Hell
No longer asking why

Not So American, America #Rhyme #Unapologetic

A country built, supporting one being,
Must be white, and regular, sporting a penis.
A wife, and kids, a mistress, too,
Bible-thumping Christians who pick, and choose.

Susie, the homemaker, keeps a clean house,
Dinner must be hot, and waiting for her spouse.
She must wrestle the children to bed, alone,
Missionary position, submission must be shown.

Single, without kids, is a sin to see,
How dare a woman be independent, and free.
“Sex before marriage, you wretched whore,
You must be virginal for marriage, and more.”

“How dare you be Black, and successful, too,”
Let’s make that, almost, impossible to do.
“Say ‘yes’ to white Steve, not black Steve, there,
Black Steve can only be a thug, that’s fair.”

“We’ll let a few Black people succeed, in life,
But let’s surround them in hardships, and strife.”
We must put on a face, for appearances sake,
And hide our evil, with a goodness, that’s fake.

A country, built, in support of one being,
Off the backs of “dark humans, or animals, as we see em’.”
An illusion of equality blankets this land,
That’s supposed to be free, for ALL Americans.

Surviving #FreeVerse #Unapologetic

Split open
Like a crack
Within the Earth

A, not so solid, foundation
Crumbles apart
Creating a desolate fissure

Bound to be torn
Ripped apart
At the seams

Forever mangled
Shattered inside
Scarred, and injured

Never to fully heal
A spirit taken away
Free, no more

Diamond Daisy #Rhyme #Unapologetic

Dripping in diamonds, Miss Daisy
Sashays throughout the room
Showing off her riches
Followed by her goons

In the peasant’s faces
She casts an evil glare
Her laugh comes out, maniacally
Her eyes glowing, like a flare

But, little does she know
Miss Daisy will meet her end
At the hands of a high class lover
Scorned by money spent

Farewell, Miss Diamond Daisy
Your riches cannot go
Alone, you’ll enter Hell
With the lowest, of the low

Winter’s Wonders #Rhyme #Unapologetic

Barren, dried out fields
Crisp, cold air
Sharp against heated skin
Wind is blowing hair

Loosened strands whip harshly
Against wind-burnt cheeks
Thin, and skinny, welts of red
Rise up, and timidly peek

Though my face is stinging
My eyes are open wide
Taking in, before me
A cerulean blue soaked sky

Breathless, I stare in wonder
In awe of Winter, so pure
Lost within a breeze of ice
Unable to resist its allure

Wind Down #Micropoetry #Unapologetic

When blue fades to grey
Sounds descend around me
Growing quieter
With every passing minute
Until silence prevails
…and then…
Rain falls in rivulets
Slamming against window panes
That distinct pitter-patter
Gently caresses my ears
Transforming chaos, to calm

Toxicity #FreeVerse #Unapologetic

Toxic-ships
Relationships
Friendships

Toxic-ly
Family

Anyone can be toxic
Toxicity runs rampant

Ties must be severed
Cut
Burnt

Your peace must be protected
Shielded from toxicity

Toxic-ships
Toxic-ly

Break the cycle
Cut the chord

Free yourself
