Entangled in desperation’s web
Struggling against its silk
As it wraps lusciously around me
Dragging me beneath the silt
Bound by anxiety’s web
Emotional sludge surrounds
Trapping me within
Hellacious crying sounds
Tight, the web becomes
Squeezing my very being
An anguished essence reveals
Eyes that are all too seeing
Outside the web, they watch
As I struggle against my demise
A light that’s slowly fading
Taken by lascivious lies
