A neon rainbow, flashes
drawing me toward its beauty,
The closer I get, the brighter it glows
a feeling begins, one of unity.
Liken beings call out
a home away from home,
Welcomed within their arms
sheltered beneath their dome.
Together, we mourn our losses
we nurse our heartaches, too,
Tears mingle with liquid comfort
crying out our why’s, and who’s.
A blanket of libations
a gauze for oozing souls,
A balm to ease our pain
happiness, our ending goal.
One finger, becomes another
escape in every drop,
My head begins to spin
me elbow becomes my prop.
Brown liquid swirls below
like the memories in my head,
Drowning in forlorn abandonment
a gut filled with dread.
Lonesome, once again
my woes fill stranger’s ears
Together, we speak our stories
through silent, salty tears.
